Shizentaikan Shimukappu – Delicious Soft Serve in a Michi-no-Eki Surrounded by Forest

Michi-no-Eki (roadside station) that has information not only on Shimukappu Village, but on the various cities/towns/villages in the Kamikawa area. They sell soft serve made from fresh milk, as well as edible plant products made from the warabi, Japanese butterbur, mushrooms, etc., that grow in abundance in Shimukappu, which is comprised of 94% forest. The giant thermometer, set up next to the Michi-no-Eki to commemorate the extreme cold of the region, is a popular photo spot.
