Visit Tengu Yama’s new TENGUU Terrace for panoramic views of the whole of Otaru

Otaru’s is considered to be one of Hokkaido’s top three, ranking alongside that of Hakodate and Sapporo. One of the best spots to see Otaru’s fabulous night view is, without a doubt, from the top of Mount Tengu.

The newly built TENGUU Terrace allows visitors to look out at Otaru’s fabulous night view from the top of Mount Tengu.

Set at a height of 532.4 meters, TENGUU Terrace features panoramic views of Otaru city, right across to the bay. The name TENGUU is based off the Japanese word “tenku” or “heavens”.

Chill out and enjoy the views of Otaru, Otaru Bay and Ishikari Bay stretched out before you. On a clear day it is even possible to see out as far as the Shakotan Peninsula. The laid-back seating area of TENGUU Terrace will make you feel as if you are stealing the view all for yourself!
