A Charming Red-Roofed Winery in Mikasa – HOKKAIDO LOVE!
dummy

The Takizawa Winery officially opened its doors in the fall of 2013 and was established by Shinobu Takizawa. Mr. Takizawa had been operating a cafe in Sapporo when he started to feel like he “wanted to live his life closer to nature.” In 2004, he began turning a one-hectare field into what is now a three-hectare vineyard, a process that took him two years to complete. Mr. Takizawa grows his grapes using the bare minimum of herbicides and pesticides and uses only natural yeast to ferment his natural wines. Along with being able to buy wine in the winery’s shop, visitors can taste the three recommended wines of the day for only 540 yen. Mr. Takizawa has a careful selection process that makes sure only the best grapes end up in these tasty wines.
