Be Amazed by the Festival and Firefly-Watching Party in Numata

Where better to get up close and personal with fireflies, a staple of Japan’s long summers, than in ‘the Village of Fireflies’, Numata? Every July, this Hokkaido village is host to a special Firefly Festival. In addition to live performances on their event stage, this popular festival sets the town abuzz with its beer garden, food stalls, & temple festivities. From late July to mid-August, a firefly watching party is held every day.
