Maccarina is a French auberge located in Makkari at the foot of the Niseko Mountains. The restaurant’s claim to fame was hosting a luncheon for the First Ladies that attended the Hokkaido Toyako Summit. It offers dishes that harmonize organic vegetables grown at a restaurant-owned farm with local wild plants and mushrooms picked in the surrounding area. Maccarina’s classy interior and stunning views of the distant mountains, including the snow-capped Mt. Yotei, make it a great place to enjoy the fabulous food on offer. The menu revolves around seasonal produce such as broccoli, zucchini, Japanese radishes, tomatoes, and potatoes along with succulent pork sourced from the pigs in Makkari Village.
