Enjoy the Pinks, Reds, and Purples of Summer at Abashiri Phlox Park

Every summer, a carpet of delicate pink flowers bloom across a broad hillock that overlooks Lake Abashiri. The phlox begin blooming in late July, peaking from around mid-August until early September. Red, pink, and purple phlox blossoms coat this hillside park, robing the entire hillock in an array of bright colors. The blossoms paint a truly brilliant summer scene when the different varietals mix and blend like colorful mosaic patterns. From the top of the park, visitors can take in the entire landscape, with Lake Abashiri shimmering peacefully in the background.
