The Fukiage Open-air Onsen is a hidden-away hot spring in the wilds of Mt. Tokachi, about 1,000 meters above sea level. This open-air hot spring is well maintained and completely free to the public. Its location is a little out of the way, but the all-natural waters of this hidden gem are worth the trouble. Once enveloped in the springs’ warm, calming waters, worries will melt away into the magnificence that is the surrounding forest. The hot spring facilities are mixed gender, and there are no changing rooms available onsite, so it is recommended that women wear a bathing suit or towel to make the experience more comfortable.
