Experience Harvesting Hokkaido’s Signature Fruit, the Haskap, or Edible Blue Honeysuckle! – HOKKAIDO LOVE!
dummy

Head to Atsuma to discover a fruit unique to Hokkaido: the haskap, or edible blue honeysuckle! Haskaps are sweet and sour, and rich in vitamin C and polyphenols. Atsuma Town boasts the largest production area of haskap in all of Japan. This town’s Doi Haskap Farm transplanted haskap trees from the wilderness of Yufutsu in the 1970s and selected the trees with the tastiest fruits to reproduce on their farm. Fascinatingly, of the 1000 or so haskap trees, each tree yields a slightly different flavor of fruit. Why not join the many people who come haskap hunting in June and July to find their most favorite flavor?
