Held from late July to mid-August
Every year, the Hokuryu Sunflower Village attracts more than 200,000 visitors to its fields. The main attraction is the town’s scenery, featuring around 2 million blooming sunflowers on a broad 23-hectare field. The sunflowers are at their peak in early August. Every year, the Sunflower Festival is held from late July until mid-August. During this festival, the World Sunflower Corner is available for visitors to appreciate over 30 different sunflower varieties grown in the fields. Along with other activities held at the festival, the giant sunflower maze is among the most popular. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely tour of this beautiful field by renting bicycles or riding the colorful sightseeing bus.
