Historical Architecture Meets Unique Tableware at the Kuboya Cafe – HOKKAIDO LOVE!
dummy

The Kuboya Cafe is run by the Otaru Taisho Glass Palace, a popular establishment renowned for its handmade glass. Constructed in 1907, the building was originally intended to be a wholesaler of miscellaneous goods. The site has since been designated as an Otaru historical building and one whose original and restored features are not to be missed. The black luster wooden pillars, the over 100-year-old plaster, the plate glass windows, and the sliding partitions have all been left intact since the store’s establishment. As you enjoy the cappuccino and zenzai (red bean) soup, a great combo offered by Kuboya, be sure to take a moment to marvel at the serving utensils produced by the Otaru Taisho Glass Palace.
