Niseko might be famous for being the most popular ski resort in Hokkaido, but tourists are slowly beginning to realize its onsen (hot springs) are equally incredible. There’s no better way to take in the sumptuous and dramatic views of Niseko’s frosty summits, than from the comfort of a steamy pool of water. Each onsen in the town – Niseko Konbu Onsen, Niseko Goshiki Onsen, Higashiyama Onsen, and Annupuri Onsen – has its own individual water source, imbuing the different waters with different therapeutic properties. Purchasing the Niseko Yu Meguri Pass is recommended so you can tour as many onsen as you possible at a lower price than paying for each individually. Niseko is possible as a day trip from Sapporo, but there are also some great hotels and ryokan (traditional inns) in the town if you fancy staying the night.
