This conservation park in Sapporo took over 20 years to create, transforming the former landfill sites on which it was built. The park’s green spaces form a series of geometric shapes that together make an interactive sculpture for visitors to explore. There is plenty to enjoy all year round, with indoor spaces featuring zero impact air conditioning as well as outdoor grounds to explore. Each season at Moerenuma Park has its charms: gorgeous cherry blossom trees in the Spring, cooling fountains and wading pools in the Summer, stunning leaves in the Autumn, and cross-country skiing and sledding in the snowy wonderland in the Winter.
