Located southwest of Lake Akan, Mt. Me-akan is the main peak of the Akan Mountain Group. Volcanic activity in the area began approximately 20,000 years ago, and repeated eruptions have created complex mountain structures. On this guided 10-kilometer tour aimed at expert hikers, gentle slopes provide participants with the chance to slow down and enjoy volcanic landscapes as well as views of Lake Akan and Mt O-akan from the summit. Seasonal alpine plants such as Campanula lasiocarpa (mountain harebell) and Sibbaldia miyabei can also be enjoyed along the way.
