Odori Park: Get Festive in the Heart of Sapporo

Odori Park is a green space that stretches for 1.5 km right through the center of Sapporo City, overlooked by Sapporo TV Tower from the east. Benches, waterfalls, and sculptures nestle amongst the park’s greenery and flower patches. Be sure not to miss the elegant “Black Slide Mantra” sculpture created by Isamu Noguchi. Numerous events are held in Odori Park throughout the year.

Located in downtown Sapporo, Odori Park is a large tract of land where locals and visitors alike can be seen relaxing at all times of the day. Stretching from east to west for almost 2 kilometers, the park is home to almost a hundred varieties of trees. This oasis in the heart of the city is always blooming with flowers in the warmer months. In Summer, Sapporo hosts the massive Beer Garden, a month-long celebration of outdoor drinking and eating. In Autumn, food artisans from across Hokkaido gather for the Autumn Gourmet Fest. If you come in the Winter, you will be treated to massive statues made of ice and snow erected for the Snow Festival, the most famous event in all of Hokkaido. Regardless of when you make a trip to Sapporo, Odori Park is always lively events and stunning foliage!
