Ofune Jomon Archaeological Site – HOKKAIDO LOVE!

Located in Hakodate, Hokkaido, the Ofune Archeological Site is a large Jomon settlement dating back to 3500 BCE which was designated a National Historic Site in 2001. Rewarding archeologists with over 200,000 artifacts, including pottery, funerary items, and animal remains, this excavation site has provided important evidence of the cultural and spiritual lives of the Jomon people.
