Old Meets New in Obihiro’s Classy Hotel Nupka – HOKKAIDO LOVE!
dummy

Hotel Nupka, which opened its doors in 2016 in Obihiro, was established with the vision of helping visitors mingle with locals. Nupka means “wilderness” in the old language of the Ainu (Hokkaido’s indigenous population), and the hotel set at the base of the stunning Hidaka Mountains aims to integrate itself with natural and historical aspects of the island. The hotel is located three minutes from JR Obihiro Station on foot and is a great place for solo travelers to lay their heads, offering reasonably priced dormitories and private rooms. Be sure to check out the cafe and bar to knock back a few craft beers, sip on freshly roasted coffee, or dine on some of the delicious food available. The Basha Bar, a horse-drawn bar that tours the city, is another popular option. Watch the Obihiro evening slowly pass you by as you enjoy a couple of brews from the comfort of an old wooden carriage.
