Created to honor the life and work of Baron Ryukichi Kawata, the Danshaku Lounge showcases the history of the danshaku potato. Inside, visitors will learn about Kawata and his legacy of importing and cultivating a variety of potatoes in Nanae. Inside, you will find a meticulously designed exhibit containing the farming tools, furniture, and accessories the baron loved. Be sure to stop by the restaurant which serves dishes made using Donan ingredients, including curry, hamburger steaks, and pasta. On your way out, check out their shop selling a variety of souvenir goods from all around Hokkaido.
