View Nature’s Mysterious White Cliffs in Otobe – HOKKAIDO LOVE!
dummy

Shirafura is a 30-meter high and 500-meters long white cliff on the Takinose Coast in Otobe. Upon leaving the Takinose Coast parking lot, the first thing you will see is a cliff called “Kuguri Iwa,” a hole in the sea that was excavated 400 years ago to open a road. From there, walk another 600-meters to Shirafura. The white cliffs are said to have been formed when pumice tuff erupted from a volcano about 5 million years ago, which created deposits that later jutted up mysteriously. Don’t miss the chance to view this unique and beautiful phenomenon!
