Japan’s oldest Ainu memorial hall which has protected and passed down the culture of the Ainu people for over 100 years. A host of valuable cultural implements such as traditional every day tools used by the Ainu people. Cultural workshops offered at the memorial hall offer visitors a rare opportunity to experience the artistic customs of the Ainu, such as making traditional instruments, trying on traditional Ainu clothing and embroidery. Performances also give you a glimpse of the songs and the dances of their people. And what better souvenir of Hokkaido than one made by the traditional people of Hokkaido?
