Hokkaido’s Treasured Lavender Fields – HOKKAIDO LOVE!
dummy

Thousands of lavender plants stretch across several separately themed flower fields like a soft purple carpet; an awe-inspiring sight that has earned Farm Tomita it’s reputation as one of Hokkaido’s top lavender-viewing spots.

Each year Farm Tomita in Nakafurano sees more than one million visitors pass through its fields. These iconic rainbow-patterned hills of lavender, and other varietals, are a Hokkaido treasure, and the landscape is made even more pronounced with the Daisetsuzan Mountain Range sitting on the horizon behind them. During the summer, a temporary station on the JR line opens up, making for a short seven-minute walk to the farm. Visitors coming to witness this eruption of color should grab the train heading for JR Furano-Biei Norokko station to make the journey as easy as possible.
