Enjoy deep backcountry snow camping in Akaigawa Village, located in one of Hokkaido’s heaviest snowfall areas. You will set up tents and igloos in the deep snowy forest with lectures by guides. This tour is a snow camping experience in itself, and you will learn about observing flora and fauna, snowshoeing activities, the fascination of camp cooking, and enjoying nature while taking responsibility for the environment. At night, we will gather around the campfire under the stars and enjoy hot wine, local sake, and craft beer.

ITINERARY

DAY 1

Arrival in Akaigawa Village and snowshoe walk to campsite

Upon arrival in Akaigawa Village, we will put on snowshoes and walk to our tent sites. The accompanying guide will give you a lecture on techniques and tips. This is a great opportunity to observe nature in the deep forest while following the tracks of animals. Snowshoes are one of the best tools for observing nature in winter. Let’s enjoy the quiet scenery while following the footprints in the deep snow.

■Tent Site Setup
With the advice of the guides, you will set up your tent site. Depending on the weather and snow conditions, we will prepare tents or igloos for overnight stays.

■Campfire Dinner
Enjoy a warm meal around the campfire. We will prepare meals using local ingredients. You can enjoy local sake, wine, and craft beer made in the suburbs of Akaigawa Village. If the weather is fine, you will be able to gaze at a star-filled sky that will envelop your entire body. The beautiful nature of Akaigawa Village will make this an unforgettable experience.

*The meals are coordinated according to weather conditions and customer preferences.
